Xgħajra Scout Bands
Our group consists of two distinct ensembles, Pipes and Drums and the Corps of Drums. The Xgħajra Scouts Pipes and Drums is a traditional Scottish-style military pipe band, featuring bagpipes and drums and the Corps of Drums is a separate ensemble that performs its style of a military drum corps.
Xgħajra Scout Pipes & Drums
On 29 January 2012, the distinctive sound of the Xgħajra Scouts Pipes & Drums was heard for the first time through the streets of Xgħajra. Since that day, the band has continued to grow in both size and musical excellence, proudly sharing its music with audiences across Malta and Gozo.
Xgħajra Scouts Pipes & Drums performs in the traditional Scottish military pipe band style, featuring bagpipes and drums. Over the years, has represented its hometown with pride, bringing its unique repertoire to numerous localities throughout the Maltese Islands.
The pipes & Drums has had the honour of performing for all Their Excellencies, the Presidents of Malta, and regularly participates in Scout parades, group parades, and other ceremonial events. In addition to its official engagements, the Xgħajra Scouts Pipes & Drums performs during village feast celebrations, Local Council events, annual concerts organised by band clubs, weddings, funerals, and a wide variety of other special occasions.

Xgħajra Scout Corps of Drums
The Xgħajra Scouts Corps of Drums was re-established in 2024 following growing interest from Scouts wishing to become part of the band. Since its reopening, the Corps has continued to develop and expand, providing young musicians with the opportunity to perform and represent the Group at a variety of events.
The ensemble consists of drums, bugles, and bell lyres, performing a repertoire in the traditional military Corps of Drums style.
The Xgħajra Scouts Corps of Drums regularly participates in Scout parades, group parades, and other ceremonial occasions, including Good Friday processions, funerals, drum displays, village feast celebrations, and civic events.
